The OSL software generation 4.8 with the new multi-platform virtualisation and clustering engine based on the OSL Virtual Storage Domains is there. The pilot phase began in March 2023, first production projects are running since October 2023. Now it is time to talk about experiences, setbacks, success stories and new perspectives. Fact is: there was a big step forwards; especially in the Linux world multiple new things are possible now. And in addition to the OSL Storage Cluster for business administration processes, databases, SAP HANA etc. there are also the OSL RSIO ("FC/SAN was yesterday") and first of all our hyper-convergent VM infrastructure OSL Unified Virtualisation Environment (OSL UVE). We have never been so close to the market leader in the area of VM solutions, and in some aspects even ahead.
